Frozen Shoulder
Frozen shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis), is a condition characterised by stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. It limits the shoulder’s range of motion and is often associated with the thickening and tightening of the shoulder capsule. This tends to get worse before getting better without intervention such as physical therapy.
How To Help With Your Pain
-
- Maintain Activity Levels: Keep using the shoulder as much as possible without causing excessive pain to prevent further stiffness and loss of mobility.
- Stretching: Hold stretches regularly to improve flexibility and reduce stiffness
- Heat and Cold Therapy: Use heat packs or cold compresses to manage pain and reduce inflammation in the shoulder. It is temporary but can help you feel less pain.
- Medication: Over-the-counter pain medications can help manage discomfort and inflammation, as advised by a healthcare professional.
- Sleep with your arm & shoulder supported
