Plantar Fasciitis

In short: This condition can cause pain, stiffness, or reduced movement. Most people improve with the right mix of assessment, hands-on care, movement guidance, and a clear plan. At Lincs Injury Clinic, we focus on helping you move better, reduce flare-ups, and feel confident again.

What is this condition?

Plantar Fasciitis is a common overuse injury usually caused by weakness, foot movement or poor footwear. It is characterised by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tendon tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes. It often causes stabbing pain in the heel area, particularly with the first steps in the morning.

How it’s diagnosed (and when to speak to your GP)

Fibromyalgia is usually diagnosed based on your symptoms and how long they’ve been present, alongside ruling out other causes. If you’re unsure what’s going on, your GP can help you explore the bigger picture.

Get urgent medical advice if you have sudden weakness, loss of bowel/bladder control, unexplained weight loss, fever, night sweats, chest pain, or severe symptoms that are rapidly worsening.
